A Friend

We traveled together in a desert called life;
Through sand and storms was our way;
A weird desert it is
With thousands of cacti but no camel.


You fell down that weird desert;
I didn't want to help you out;
You struggled to get up and succeeded;
But did not continue the journey without me;

I did not know that this was true friendship;
To have faith in me,
But no revenge.
 
I fell down;
Did not expect you would help;
But you did!
Forgetting what I did to you;
 
You succeeded;
You changed stone to water;
Made me understand,
What it is to be a true friend.
